How does search targeting lead to a higher PPC?

Advertisers pay more for highly qualified and targeted traffic. Search targeting allows a marketer to target the exact phrase someone is looking for. For example, if someone is searching for 'ipod prices' they are likely to purchase an iPod.

Can I use Chango with AdSense?

Yes! The AdSense Terms of Service allow for other forms of ad networks, provided they do not look identical to Google adverts. Many of our publishers successfully use Chango in conjunction with AdSense to achieve a higher net eCPM.

What sites are best suited for Chango?

English only content sites that receive significant North American organic search traffic from Google, Bing or Yahoo!

What happens when a user arrives from somewhere other than a search engine?

You have two options. By default the ad is designed to 'disappear' when we cannot target the user. Alternatively you can specify another advertisement.

Can I run your ads through our ad server?

What is the best location for your ads?

The best location is within the content of your article. Place our ad unit directly beneath the title of your article, after the 1st paragraph of text or directly at the bottom of an article before the comments area.

What is search-targeted advertising?

Search-targeting advertising displays ads based on the search phrases used to arrive at your site. Search-targeted ads are only shown to visitors who come from search engines.

What does Chango cost?

How does Chango select its Advertisers?

Chango works with a variety of carefully selected advertisers to ensure a wide range of relevant, quality ads for each content category. If we don’t have a high quality, highly relevant ad to show your visitor, by default we won’t show one.

Will the Chango ad be relevant to my site’s content?

Yes. The Chango SearchSpots system intelligently associates keywords and phrases to ads that are highly relevant to the search query your visitor used to find your site. The breadth and depth of our ad network ensures that we have lots of choice from which to optimize the ads we show. On the rare occasion that SearchSpots can’t find a highly relevant ad, by default it errs on the side of respect for your readers and doesn’t display an ad.

Do you Show Ads to International and Non-Search Visitors?

No. Chango only displays ads to US or Canadian search engine traffic.

What are the eligibility criteria for my site to qualify as a Chango Publisher?

Chango is designed for any English-based content site with 50,000+ monthly page views and significant US or Canadian search traffic. As part of our responsibility to our advertisers, we will not allow content that in our opinion can be deemed as negative in nature, adult-oriented, illegal or offensive in any way.

What languages does Chango support?

At this time, all websites with English based content only.

Can I sign up as an Chango Publisher if I’m already a member of another ad network?

Yes. Please note that it is your responsibility to identify and remediate any contractual issues that may arise with your other ad network(s) as a result of participating in the Chango Publisher Program.


Do I need separate Chango accounts for each website I own/manage?

No. Chango makes it easy to manage multiple websites within a single Publisher account. However, if you would like to handle payment separately for each, we recommend that you create a separate Chango account for each website.

How do I apply to become a Chango Publisher?

Complete our brief sign-up form. Our team will review your submission and upon approval you will receive an email with a link to your Chango Publisher account where you will find a 1-line customized Java Script code. Insert the code into your webpage template and you're done. It’s that easy.

How soon will Chango start appearing on my website?

Immediately. Once your Publisher application has been approved and you have inserted the code into you site, Chango's search-targeted ads will
be live.

How do I set up Chango on my website?

Using your Chango Publisher account you will be provided with one line of Java script. You will need to insert this code into your website’s html.

How do I integrate Chango into a WordPress blog?

Click the Design tab (in WordPress 2.5 and up) to edit your theme and add the Chango Java Script code there.

Publisher Referral Program

How can I make money referring websites to Chango SearchSpots?

Chango SearchSpots offers a Publisher Referral Program to reward you for helping expand our publisher network. Every time you refer a new publisher and they are approved for Chango SearchSpots, you will earn 10% of what the referral earns each month for 15 months. The referral makes the same revenue that they would normally and you have an opportunity to generate residual income for your efforts.

Read the Publisher Guidelines to ensure you are focusing on sites that meet our minimum qualifications. Do NOT sign up on behalf of a potential publisher – they must apply directly using your referral link and will be required to confirm their email address before their application will be considered. Abusing this rule will get you banned from the program and you will forfeit any future earnings.

  1. Earn 10% of any publisher you refer that is approved for Chango SearchSpots.
  2. Referral Commissions are valid for 15 months from the approval date.
  3. Chango pays NET 30. You will be paid 30 days following the end of the month that your commissions are earned. Your total balance must exceed $10 (for PayPal) and $50 (for checks).
  4. You will be paid based on audited revenue.
  5. Your referral link can be found in the “Referrals” section of the Publisher Admin area.
  6. Your Referral income is reported in the “Balance” section of the Publisher Admin area.

Payments and Earnings

How does the Chango Payment Process work?

Chango offers two monthly payment options: PayPal or Check. Your account balance must be over $10 for PayPal and $50 for checks before payment is sent. Chango does NOT charge a service fee for payments sent via PayPal. Payment terms are calculated at the end of each month and paid 'net 30'. This means if you earn $250 in April, you will receive payment at the end of May.


How do I earn money from Chango?

Each time your website visitors click on a Chango search-targeted ad, you get paid per click. We seek the advertisers, you get the revenues. Join Chango now and you can begin making money today.


How do I get paid?

Chango publishers receive payments via their preferred choice of PayPal or Check. Publishers are asked to specify their preferred payment method during the account set-up process.

How do I change my payment method?

If you wish to change your preferred payment method, simply log into your Publisher Account and edit your Payment Details accordingly.

When do I get paid?

Every month. At the end of each monthly payment period, Chango calculates your earnings for that month. If your account balance has exceeded $25 your payment will be processed 'Net 30'. This means that an account balance of $75 at the end of March will be processed for payment at the end of April. If your account does not exceed $25 it keeps accumulating until the minimum has been reached.

How can I track my Chango earnings?

To track your Chango earnings, just sign in to your Chango Publisher Account and select the “Reports” tab. Your earnings data is updated every 24 hours.


How often are my reports updated?

We update reports every 24 hours to include all data for the previous day. If you are unsure whether the update was made, please log into your Publisher Account, and in the report page you can see when was the last update was performed.

How do I sign up for a PayPal account?

To sign up for a PayPal account, please visit www.PayPal.com and click on the Sign Up link.

How can I change my personal details?

If you wish to change your personal details simply log in to your Publisher Account and edit your details accordingly or send an email to support@chango.com with the requested changes.
